I'm so glad Michelle pointed me to your blog! In case you need more grist for the mill, read Article 11 of the Treaty of Tripoli (circa 1797). It specifically states that the US is NOT a Christian nation, but a secular one. http://www.stephenjaygould.org/ctrl/treaty_tripoli.html

Much like the "war on Christmas," being invented right here and now. Christmas? The original Puritans founding our country thought it was pagan. They didn't want it spelled Christmas, Xmas or anything else, thank you very much. I think knowing the origins of these things is important. It helps when politicians begin inventing a beginning for them that never was.

I've made friends through friends and had conversations with fellow bloggers that are so much fun. Just had one the other day that might perhaps have opened up a teeny path of communication between myself and an atheist who is none too keen on Christians. (Don't worry, I'm not trying to convert her, just reassure her that not all of us are morons.)

Oh, and men should join us in support of Planned Parenthood - there are health services for them there, too!

Thanks Erika for the shout out! (And the warm fuzzies it gave me.) :-) I think it's great that you love the variety on my blog because I'm always worried about whether I'm too random for readers who aren't already close friends or family. I appreciate the encouragement.

When I was in Junior High I won a speech contest. I sincerely doubt it was my gifted oration but rather the content, which was taken straight from my mothers mouth.
It was 1975 and she was already horrified with what was happening to our food supply. Nitrates and Nitrites and Cancer causing carcinogens were her biggest concerns but she and her friends were already hoarding seeds in fear of what might come. How sad now to realize that it was not some paranoid delusion.
BUT I digress.
My point is that I rebelled against the organic food and ate as much refined sugar and quarter pounders as I could get my hands on. Ding Dongs and Ho Ho's were my favorite treats.
Terrible mother that I am it is not unusual today to find Ho Ho's in my freezer (my daughter likes her chocolate cold just like Mommy) .
So, no one can blame me for the demise of Hostess. I am brand loyal to the end. Thanks for warning me that it might be immiment!
