In addition to my regular blogging, I occasionally post short stories either on this site or on my writing group’s workshop blog.

Please enjoy my mini adventures!!!

The Sex Scene (Or How Much Harder Can It Get?) –  Theresa is an author just trying to slog her way through the first draft of her latest novel.  She needs to write a hot sex scene, but the difficulties of removing clothes, the appropriate language, even physics keep tripping her up!

This story first appeared on my personal blog on May 11th, 2011.  It was one of my very first posts.

In 2013 my critique partners and I launched a writers group blog.  The purpose of the blog is to encourage whimsy and creativity, both amongst our own group and in the writers that we are fortunate enough to know.  We supply prompts and then the author chooses one that inspires her.  She (or he) can write a piece as long or short as they desire.  It can be a haiku, a dirty limerick, an essay or op-ed piece.  We’ve even had one author compose a song.  However, by and large most people choose to write a short story.

My first contribution was a supernatural detective story with a noir feel.  Published June 4th, 2013, it’s called The Devil’s Own and it introduces us to the one and only Charlie Watts.  This story has since become the basis for my latest work in progress, The Devil’s Advocate.

On July 7th of 2013, I tried something a little out of my comfort zone.  I wrote my first ghost story.  It is called At Last and was modeled after a Barbara Michaels type of book.

That ultimate pixie delight... The Bubble.

That ultimate pixie delight… The Bubble.

The site fell silent for a while as our group collectively worked on completing drafts, querying agents, and the basic business of trying to make it as a writer these days.  We’ve revived the site and to kick things off I contributed the short story, Bubble Trouble, on March 4th, 2014.  This was a lot of fun to write and features adorable, but rascally pixies loose upon unsuspecting Northern California.

I will continue to add more stories as they are written.  I hope that you enjoy them.  I certainly have loved writing them!
